Sales Engineer (Bilingual Spanish/English)

Windak Inc., a global leader in industrial packaging equipment for the wire and cable industry, is seeking a dynamic Bilingual Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an energetic sales professional who thrives on building relationships and driving solutions for customers across North and South America, with a strong focus on Spanish-speaking markets.

As a Sales Engineer, you will act as a trusted advisor - understanding customer needs, delivering tailored technical solutions, and exceeding sales goals. You will leverage your expertise in packaging equipment and strong communication skills to conduct presentations, prepare technical proposals, and provide guidance throughout the sales cycle.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of technical sales experience, is fluent in English and Spanish, and is based in the Southwest USA. Travel (60–75%) is required to engage directly with customers and represent Windak at industry events.


Market: North and South American Territory with a focus on Spanish speaking customers.

Summary and Job Objectives

The Sales Engineer is essential to driving sales of Windak equipment, products, and services.  Acting as a primary point of contact for new and existing customers, offering solutions to their packaging needs.  Focusing on Spanish speaking customers throughout the America’s.

Duties/Responsibilities

- Support operations to implement the organizational sales strategy and drive revenue growth.

- Collaborate in long-term and short-term goal setting for teams and individuals.

- Meet project/department milestones/ goals and adhering to approved budgets.

- Use data to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance.

- Monitor the industry, business environment, competitors, and customers to develop action plans for expanding and retaining customer base.

- Meet or exceed sales targets on a regular basis.

- Maintain ongoing advanced knowledge of Windak equipment, products, and service offerings. 

- Maintain positive relationships with current customers.

- Identifies new customers.

- Develop and establish positive relationships with new customers via calls, video conferences, and in person visits.

- Monitor customer feedback and insights and collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and suggest new products.

- Create and conduct technical presentations and demos that present current and future products and services.

- Utilize technical acumen to understand and gather customer requirements.

- Prepare specifications and generate quotes.

- Prepare and modify machine layouts during the quote process to ensure order orientation and fit within the customer’s facility.

- Build customer confidence by addressing all technical concerns of the customers throughout the sales cycle.

- Partner with internal technical and marketing teams to offer suggestions for product enhancements and to share insights from customers.

- Trade show exhibition planning, set-up, execution and tear-down.

- Responsible for maintaining a clean and neat work environment.  This includes common spaces, customer sites, office areas, production, and warehouse areas.

- This person is expected to follow all safety regulations both in-house and at remote locations and is expected to perform all activities in a safe manner using proper judgement.

- Utilize CRM tools to track customer interactions, follow up on leads, and personalize client experiences.

- Train, mentor, and support new sales associates to ensure high team performance and knowledge sharing.

- Oversee and manage projects through all phases, from initiation to completion, ensuring timely execution.

- The employee is required to comply with all Windak’s policies and procedures.

- Expected to adhere to Windak’s code of conduct during all business-related activities.

- All other duties as assigned.

- Problem solving skills are required to identify the best product/service solution for the customer’s needs.

- Can quickly learn new technologies and adjust to changing customer needs.

- The ability to understand and explain complex products or systems verbally and written in both English and Spanish.

- Prospecting skills are required to find new leads and keep the sales pipeline moving.

- Interpersonal skills that allow the employee to build/maintain relationships and rapport with new and existing customers are essential. 

- Must work well with sales, product, engineering, and administrative team members both in person and remotely.

- Comfortable presenting visual, written, and verbally to executives, technical and non-technical  stakeholders.

- High level time management skills are required to self-prioritize tasks and adjust as priorities change.

- Advanced negotiation skills, and closing techniques. 

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

- Proficient in English & Spanish is essential.

- Estonian language skills are a plus.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365.

- Proficient in Solid Works.

- Proficient in AutoCad.

Work Environment

The Sales Associate will work in a variety of environments including but not limited to:

- Office

- Customer manufacturing facilities

- Convention Centers

Physical Demands

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, in a car, train or plane. 

- Prolonged periods of walking and standing in production facilities.

- Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and printer.

- Must be able to travel by automobile, train, and plane. 

- Able to lift up to 15lbs occasionally.

- Must be able to see.

- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.

- Must be able to hear, understand and speak English & Spanish.

Position Type and Hours

- Hybrid: In person and remote

- Standard Windak operational hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm Eastern, Monday through Friday.

- When visiting customers hours will vary based on customer needs.

- Weekend work is occasional.

Travel Requirements

- Domestic travel

- Foreign travel

- Travel 60-75% of the time.

Required Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years work experience in associated field, such as mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering or automated packaging.

- Or an associate degree, certificate, or diploma and 10+ years work experience in an associated field, such as mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering or automated packaging.

Preferred Education and Experience

- 10+ years of sales experience in packaging equipment

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

- Bi-lingual: English and Spanish

- Must be able to meet entry requirements for North and South American territories for sales.

- Must not be a convicted felon (Canada entry requirement).

- Can not have a DUI on your driving record (Canda entry requirement).

- Have and maintain a Valid US Driver’s License with Real Star ID.

- Have and maintain a Valid Passport.

- Must be able to fly abord US and international airlines.

- Preferred “home base” located in the Southwest USA
