FC5 Automated Coiling Line – Factory Review and Performance Testing with TKF Cable

Trust in cable packaging automation is built step by step, layer by layer — not in presentations, but in the factory, together with the people who will run the machines.

Last week, Windak had the pleasure of welcoming the TKF (BV Twentsche Kabelfabriek) team to our production facility in Estonia for a factory visit and technical review of their FlexCoiler FC5 line.

The visiting team included:

Tim Breukers – Technical Engineer
Fatih Unal – Shift Leader
Kinga Koscielna – Operator

Their visit provided an important opportunity to review the solution in detail and align expectations before the line moves into installation and daily production at TKF.

Reviewing the Line with Production in Mind

Together with TKF’s technical and production teams, Windak engineers reviewed the complete coiling and packaging process, including:

coiling quality and layer consistency
strapping and handling
shrink wrapping
palletizing and final packaging steps

The focus was on operational performance and efficiency, ensuring that the line is fully prepared to meet real production requirements once installed at the customer’s site.

These discussions are especially valuable when operators, shift leaders, and engineers are involved early. Their input helps validate details, identify open points, and fine-tune the solution while the equipment is still in the factory environment.

Factory Reviews as Part of the Project Approach

Factory reviews like this are an important part of Windak’s project approach when timing and scope allow. They provide customer teams with the opportunity to:

verify that specifications are translated correctly into the final solution
review ergonomics, handling, and process flow
align production targets with technical requirements
prepare for smooth commissioning and start-up
