Windak Showcases Automated Reel Handling Solution AL60 at “REEL Special” Open House

A day before the Wire Association International (WAI) Southeast Chapter Annual Golf Outing, we opened the doors of Windak Inc. to customers and partners from across the wire and cable industry for a truly “REEL Special” Open House event.

For many in our industry, handling heavy cable reels has always meant time, effort, and physical strain. With our AutoLoader AL60, we’ve redefined that process. The fully automated system enables a single forklift operator and one supervisor to complete reel loading or unloading in under a minute.

The technology delivers, on average, 30% faster operation, improved safety, reduced operator fatigue, and consistent, repeatable performance across production runs.

During the event, our guests — including Windak customers, industry partners, and representatives from the WAI such as Shannon Timme (Director of Sales), Vanessa Lewis (Project Manager), and Paul Douwes from Wire World — experienced firsthand how the AL60 automation technology transforms heavy reel handling for cable manufacturers.

The following day, we continued the connection between technology and tradition on the golf course at the WAI Southeast Chapter Annual Golf Outing.

The event once again brought together professionals from the wire and cable sector while supporting WAI’s scholarship program.

Both Windak teams finished in the top 10, placing 4th and 6th overall.
